I was born and raised on a farm in Southwest Kansas, near my hometown, Johnson. I graduated from Stanton County High School and then earned a B.A.. in History (Cum Laude) from Fort Hays State University in 1987. We relocated to the Council Bluffs, IA area after my husband finished graduate school at the University of Iowa in 1989. I was employed by a bank in Council Bluffs where I worked my way up from teller to supervisor of the New Accounts department. It was in the bank that I became interested in business, investments and working with clients.
While I enjoyed banking, I was eager to move into the world of investments. In 1993 I accepted a position with an Omaha-based investment firm focused on hiring, training, and managing advisors located in community banks in the Midwest. While my position began as an administrative one, it quickly evolved into more. In September 1996 I passed the General Securities (Series 7) exam. I was named Executive Vice President and supervised the Operations Department of the broker / dealer. During this time I learned a great deal about investment products and how to use them to address client needs. Not only did I supervise a large number of Registered Representatives, but also I began to work directly with my own clients.
After transitioning the firm through an acquisition in 2003 and again in 2011, my business partner and I decided to open our own office and focus on client relationships. We founded Bridge Financial in October 2014 and are committed to building it through helping clients, such as yourself, bridge all the stages of life.
My husband and I are the proud parents of two daughters, Katharine and Madeline, both of whom are attending college. With my kids grown, I am able to spend more time on my hobbies: golfing, gardening, and watching college basketball and professional baseball.
